The same vehicle is also available from Citroën as the Nemo and from Fiat as the Fiorino thanks to a long-standing joint venture between PSA, Peugeot and Citroën’s parent, and the Italian manufacturer. All three vans are virtually identical apart from their badges. ABS is standard too along with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. Bipper can handle payloads of 590kg for the Euro 4 and 660kg for Euro 5 and boasts a 2.5m3 load area. Opt for top-of-the-range Professional specification — lower S and SE spec levels are available too — and you get a nearside sliding cargo door along with air conditioning, Bluetooth and electric windows for the roomy cab. Although it might not pack quite as much punch as Fiorino, the diesel Bipper is a lively little performer that’s more than capable of coping with the cut and thrust of urban traffic. Its compact dimensions make it easy to park in even the tightest of slots. On the downside the ride can be choppy, especially on uneven surfaces; and there’s no shortage of those given Britain’s scandalously potholed highways. Service intervals are set at 2 yrs/20,000 miles while Bipper is protected by a three-year/60,000-mile warranty.
